What is in thine hand? – Part 1

When God called and commissioned Moses to confront Pharaoh and bring the children of Israel out of Egypt, Moses knew that a big task and challenges were awaiting him.

He knew he needed something to convince both the Israelites, and Pharaoh that God has commissioned him to bring the children of Israel out of Egypt.
Moses said the people would not take his word, unless he showed them some signs and then demanded for a sign.

You can see that Moses saw his emptiness as a human being, and wondered how he would convince Pharaoh and his people.

We should know that whenever God calls any person, He gives him/her something to convince the opposition, as it was done in the case of Moses and Pharaoh.

If God calls you, He will equip you as well as give you something to convince the people that He is the One that called you. As we can see in Chosen, it is very clear that God has given us something to convince the people that God called us.

Within a short period of this ministry, a lot of people have come to believe in us and are convinced that these Chosen people have backing of the true God.

Hence, when they pray, they give thanks to the Almighty God that called us. They know that Chosen people are untouchable, and that armed robbers and evil people are afraid of them. God has given us power to confront them and there are testimonies to attest to this fact.

And this has convinced many people and churches that we are unique. Also, our evangelical zeal has challenged many churches to action, all to the advantage of the body of Christ.

If God calls you, He must give you something to show that He has called you. God told Moses to use what was in his hand to do the work. With the rod, Moses performed great miracles, signs and wonders that convinced Egyptians. With the same rod, he divided the Red Sea.

God used the rod in his hand to bring many to His knowledge, even though Moses didn’t understand that. God showed him that there is something in his hand, which he should use to confront Pharaoh and bring the children of Israel out of Egypt.

Remember, Moses had a rod of power in his hand, but he was busy, saying his people would not believe him. He had a rod that carried power, which could convince the whole world and yet, he was saying his people would not believe him. He never thought or considered that what was in his hand was given to him by God Almighty and as such must be powerful, regardless of its size. He did not believe that what was in his hand could make a difference.

The same is applicable to many believers in the present dispensation. They do not understand that the word of God is a powerful tool that could be used to positively change every situation.

It was the same rod that was filled with power that Moses used to convince his people the children of Israel and delivered them from the hand of Pharaoh.

We too, should realise that God has given us something. We should use it to confront the Pharaoh of our present day and deliver our people. Jer. 23: 29 says, “Is not my word like as a fire? saith the LORD; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces.”
