The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God, Rom. 8:16. You just have to know His voice, Jn. 16:13. The good news is that He wants to be closer to you than you want to be to Him.

Memorise: “Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust… him; and he shall bring it to pass,” Psalm 37:5.

Scripture: Psalm 37:23-37

INTRODUCTION: Christ’s life was in perfect alignment and harmony with God’s will and purpose, Heb. 10:7. What can be said about your life and your choices? God is unlikely to compel you. He will constantly guide and guard you, pointing out the right way and the consequences of disobedience. The choice will ultimately have to be yours. Ps. 32:8.

God made and equipped you for a specific assignment, Eph. 2:10; Heb. 12:1. Paul said “…I have finished my course…” note “my,” 2 Tim. 4:7. God’s plan is specific, Ps. 37:23. He will guide you step by step, Isa. 58:11; Rom. 12:2. You cannot plan your own life, Jer. 10:23. You will have to have a close, if not intimate, relationship with Him.

Common Ground
There will always be applicable standard terms and conditions, 1 Thess. 4:3. An attitude of gratitude, humility, prayer, obedience, love, all summed up in one word-Holiness, 1Thes. 4: 7, 1 Thes. 5: 17-18, 1 Pet. 1: 15-16.

Your Role
You must:

• Trust Him, Ps. 37:3. Commit everything to Him only and put Him first, Matt 6:33 Ps. 37:5.
• Be patient, Ps. 37:7.
• Surrender to His will, Rom. 12: 1-2.

God is sovereign and no one can order Him around or pigeonhole Him. His written Word is an infallible guide, Ps. 119:105. He is never random or arbitrary in the exercise of His sovereignty, even if we can’t tell why or how He acts the way He does. Steeping yourself in the written Word, will not only make you strong and robust spiritually, but will also install an inerrant compass in your heart. The Word is to your spirit what food is to your body. You can suffer malnourishment in either or both. Invest quality time in the Word written and the Word made flesh will reveal Himself to you in a special way.

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God, Rom. 8:16. You just have to know His voice, Jn. 16:13. The good news is that He wants to be closer to you than you want to be to Him.

Conclusion
The Lord wants to reward you here on earth and hereafter in heaven. He has it all planned out. It is in your best interest to cooperate with Him all the way. His will, plan and purpose for your life will come to pass in the mighty name of Jesus.
