Seeking God’s kingdom enables enduring success, prosperity, says Udofia
As Church Installs Engr. Babatunde Odufuwa As New Lay President
Primate of The African Church, Most Rev. Emmanuel Josiah Udofia has enjoined Christians to seek first God’s Kingdom and His righteousness, saying it is the only means to achieve enduring success and prosperity.
Speaking at the installation of Engr. Babatunde Odufuwa, as the 24th Lay President of The African Church in Lagos, last Sunday, the Primate noted that seeking God first gives hope to the labour of humanity.
His words: “Christians must also strive to be faithful stewards. Their time, gifts and position, must be given to serve God. One day, we are going to give account to God. Stewards must be found faithful, honest and accountable.”
The former president of Christian Council of Nigeria (CCN), added that: “Any position you hold today is by God’s mercy. Your position must not be used to attack another person. God owns the church and we must see ourselves, as brothers and sisters. We must also have a vision that drives us.”
The new Lay President, Engr. Odufuwa said: “The word unity means oneness, perfect harmony, all in one agreement. Let us share the vision of making African Church better than we found it. The base line is that you can’t fight today’s battle using yesterday’s methods.”
