Essence of man’s existence is to worship God, says Amos

Pastor-in-charge of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Province 5, FCT, Abuja, Tugbogbo Adesina Amos has attributed the essence of man’s existence to continuous worship of the Most High God.

In an interview with The Guardian, Amos said he loves worshipping God because that is the reason God created man, adding that every other good thing man does to please God cannot be compared to that of worshipping Him.

He said: “When I became born again, my passion for God increased. I loved anything worshipping because the essence of our creation is to worship God. I keep telling people that every other thing we do is for ourselves, whether it is prayer, fasting or giving. But all what God wants from us is to worship Him. He created us for that purpose and to fail to worship is to fail to fulfil destiny. So, anything worship is my passion and that was why I keyed into a vision given to one of our sons by God: “Rehoboth VII.”

He explained that ‘Rehoboth V11’ is an initiative under the Lord’s guidance, with the aim of gathering people of all ages, race and clime under one umbrella of praise and worship.

Amos said when individuals meet God’s requirements, He will also meet their needs, adding “Whatever is your need, as you give God worship, you should expect that your need must surely come to pass.”

He said when the children of God gather to worship, He opens doors of blessings (deliverance, breakthrough in their various businesses and promotion in their places of work).

He recalled that when God was to deliver the children of Israel from Egypt, He called Moses and told him to tell pharaoh to let His people go, so they may serve Him. The cleric explained that the word ‘serve’ in the Bible means worship, adding, “If you read that same verse from other translations, it is worship and not serve, and to serve is to worship. So, you are either delivered to serve or you serve to deliver.”

Amos stressed that pastoring is the father of all professions, but regretted that some people have refused to regard it as such.

He said: “I see people resigning as managers, bankers and even as professors because God called them. But people will question you for resigning as a pastor to do something else.

“Been a pastor is the zenith of service. Naturally, I find fulfilment in it, not because I am getting money from it, but because I am doing what God created me to do. It can be challenging, it can be stressful, but one good thing about serving God is that the more responsibility He gives you, the more blessing you will also have, which is why I don’t complain because the grace is always available.”
