As a result of the incident, which substantially affected some of its equipment, the Radio station is currently off air.

Management appreciates, profoundly, the efforts of staff, students, the University fire station and Ondo State Fire Service in putting out the inferno. The students deserve a lot of commendation as they aided and facilitated the efforts of the fire services to put out the fire. In a letter written on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Adebiyi Daramola, by the Acting Dean, Students Affairs, Dr. Kayode Alese, the Management commended the entire students’ community for what it termed good efforts and sense of responsibility displayed on the night of Saturday, 22nd August, 2015.

He said, “Your gallant action contributed in no small measure in saving the day. The University notes the commitment and unusual courage displayed to forestall what could have been a monumental disaster. You gave your time and energy and risked your life and health for this purpose.

FUTA is happy and proud to have this crop of students”. He prayed God to continue to guide their footsteps into nobler ventures and greater opportunities as they forge ahead in their academic careers and future endeavours.

Efforts are however ongoing to restore skeletal services in the shortest possible time.
