National Chairman of the Nigeria Football Supporters Club, Rev. Samuel Ikpea, has described as laudable feats, the appointments of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) President, Amaju Pinnick, and former Chief Judge of Lagos State, Justice Ayotunde Phillips, into the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and FIFA committees respectively.

Pinnick recently got elected as a member of CAF Executive Committee, an influential organising committee for FIFA and was on Monday appointed the President of Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) and Media Committees of CAF. Phillips on Thursday was elected into the FIFA ethics committee.

Speaking to pressmen on the development, Ikpea said the appointments were signs of great things to come, as the nation hopes to make progress with their selections into the highly exalted positions, and also leverage on this to ensure the growth of the nation’s football, both on the continent and in the world at large.

“On behalf of the Nigeria Football Supporters Club, I want say a big congratulations to Amaju Pinnick and Hon. Ayotunde Phillips on their recent appointments.

“This is a further testimony to the rising profile of Nigeria in global football. We definitely believe that these appointments will rub on our football positively and make our nation great again. I want to say here that Nigerian football is on the rise again,” he said.
