Determined to fashion a more cordial relationship with their sister club, Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan (3SC), the management of Ondo State Football Agency (ODSFA) has revealed plans to meet its 3SC counterpart to prevent ‘incidents’ any time their teams play.

Chairman of ODSFA, Prince John Ola Mafo, admitted during a press conference in Akure yesterday that there were always accusations and counter-accusations anytime Sunshine Stars and 3SC of Ibadan trade tackles, citing the recent reports in the media that 3SC officials were attacked during a Week Nine Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) match in Akure.

Mafo said the Sunshine Stars management always tried to ensure peace on any match day in Akure, adding, “this was why we organised seminar and workshop through the state football association before the start of the season to sensitize our fans and supporters on the need to allow peaceful atmosphere at match venues.

“We are ready to initiate peace moves with management of 3SC of Ibadan with a view to ending the prolong misunderstanding that is existing between the two teams, which started several years ago.

“It is also important to call on football managers in this country; the LMC and NFF to appropriate peace measures between these two neighbouring teams,” he said.

The former Chairman of the NFF Appeals Committee while condemning the harassment on the General Manager of the Ibadan outfit, Mr. Sodiya Balogun and the Coordinator, Mr. Dan Fulani, said a mechanism has been put on ground to identify the culprits and bring them to book.
