The Head Coach of Sunshine Stars FC of Akure, Solomon Ogbeide, on Wednesday said that he was satisfied with his team’s goalless draw with Rivers United FC on the road.

Ogbeide told sports writers after a Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) mid-week in Port Harcourt that the away draw was like having the maximum points.

“I am happy to secure a point on the road considering the fact that this is my first game with Sunshine Stars.

“This draw is like a win for me because the match was played away and not at home,’’ he said.

Ogbeide said that when he took over as the coach, he met players that were not too good but hoped to do something good with them.

Afeez Aremu, a former Sharks FC player, now playing for Sunshine Stars, said his club had been struggling because their former coach was not good.

“We have been struggling all these while because we had a coach that took Kwara United to relegation.

“I thank God that the management of the team has brought the best coach for the team and I believe the results will come forth,’’ he said.

Stanley Eguma, Coach of Rivers United said the draw at home did not mean that he was under pressure.

Eguma said his side drew because the players did not play under instruction.

“I am not under any pressure, the only challenge was, my boys did not play to instructions,’’ he said.

The fans of Rivers United, dissatisfied with the outcome of the game shouted “Eguma must go’’.
