Super Eagles interim coach, Samson Siasia and his assistants have mapped out the strategy that would nail the Pharaohs of Egypt tomorrow when they meet at the Ahmdau Bello Stadium, officials of the team have revealed.

Speaking through the team’s Media Officer, Toyin Ibitoye, after yesterday evening’s training session, Coach Siasia expressed his delight at the level of commitment displayed by the players in training, saying that the Eagles were ready to demolish the Pharaohs tomorrow.

He affirmed that Ahmed Musa still remained the Eagles captain, adding, however, that all the players in camp are being treated as equals.

Although Siasia acknowledged that the Egyptians, who arrived in Kaduna yesterday, were a tough team, he said the Eagles were aware of the task ahead and would not rest on their oars until they secured victory in the qualifying series.

“The Eagles camp is alive now. All the invited Foreign-based players have displayed their commitment to the game in training and Siasia has assured that only the best players will earn shirts against the Egyptians,” Ibitoye said.

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has appealed to spectators coming to the Ahmadu Bello Stadium tomorrow to ensure they do not have any weapon of any kind on them.

NFF General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, made the appeal in Abuja as the NFF continued the countdown to the big match.

“We are specially appealing to our football fans not to come with any item that might be seen as a weapon, because security will be very tight on the day. We also appeal passionately to the fans to co-operate fully with the security agents to make for hitch –free entry into the venue.

“Similarly, we are appealing to the fans to come to the stadium wearing green and white colours. We want the venue proudly adorned in our national colours,” he said.

Ahmed Musa Captain-ship was controversial under Oliseh, it was not done in good faith, as it was done without a consensus. So don’t expect full cooperation with the rest of the team. As a result of the retention of Ahmed Musa as the captain without due process, I am withdrawing my support for the Super Eagles and I do not wish the super eagles victory but loss. I am sorry, I am not going to support wrong actions. Ahmed Musa and his team will fall flat against Egypt, everything that will go wrong must go wrong against the eagles, so I have decreed. Goodbye Eagles from AFCON2017

@@chukwumaemecheta:disqus, My brother. Please try to be patriotic and considerate on this issue. The coach tried and did well by applying diplomacy on this matter. We have a crucial game at hand and this captainship issue is very sensitive. Should Siasia change the captain at this last minute, it may further divide the team because whether we like it or not, Musa must have some loyalists so if you change him now, they will start reacting and you will have a totally disjointed set-up. So, I think the coach decided to play safe by allowing him to lead the team until after these matches, and then decide on who becomes the captain. The best we could do as it is now is to give the team all our support so that we qualify for the nations cup and from there gradually, we put our house in order. You know that Rome was not built in a day so, its one thing at a time. PEACE!!!

I have always loved Ahmed Musa, he is truly my guy, he is enterprising, hardworking and truly inspiring but I hated what Sunday Oliseh did to the team, how he came in and immediately created bad-blood and division among the players, and threw away our legend and former captain Vincent Enyeama without consensus and without due process.. He was treated in the most disrespectful and disgraceful way, and no one has yet apologized for that crime against him, so, Ahmed Musa retaining the captainship opens up old wound and reminds me the agony and experience of those tubulent period. It has nothing absolutely to do with Ahmed Musa but more to do with that mad animal called Sunday Oliseh. And all things being equal, I hope that right things will be done at all times in Nigeria in every areas of its existence without sentiments, favor or disfavor as Buhari is doing to Biafrans today in Nigeria which has brought God’s condemnation and judgement against Nigeria.

The faceless enemy of the Eagles will perish tomorrow after a comfortable victory over Egypt. The captain was chosen by whoever was in the authority to do so and he represents Nigeria. If anyone thinks that his brother or mother must always be in charge for things to be Nigerian, such a person must be consigned to the waste bin of Nigeria. Everybody say ‘Amen’.

Interestingly, Musa is the Arabic version of Moses. So, head or tail, Nigeria will cross this ‘Red Sea’ by the grace of the Most High God!
