RPL thrills sports enthusiast

In celebration of the 50 years of Lagos, the Indian community in Nigeria, gathered at the Onikan stadium, Lagos, where athletes and sports enthusiasts took part in various sporting activities.

In celebration of the 50 years of Lagos, the Indian community in Nigeria, gathered at the Onikan stadium, Lagos, where athletes and sports enthusiasts took part in various sporting activities.

The event, organized by Rajasthani Samaj (RS), featured the Rajasthan Premier League (RPL), where athletes from various categories participated in different kind of sporting activities, which include, Cricket, Football and other athletics.

Speaking to journalists, the General Secretary, RS, Mr. Anuj Murarka said RPL is all about synergy, sports and getting people together to enjoy a common spirit of joy and happiness.

“This is our debut event in celebration of 50 Years of Lagos. The event started and ended with a lot of enthusiasm and there is a desire from all participants for making this an annual event. We are thankful to the participants, ExCom, volunteers and our sponsors for making this event grand.

“We are also thankful to Lagos State Government, management and staff of Onikan Stadium, Media and especially Nigerian Police Force, Onikan Division and the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) team who has supported the event with their presence. We are also thankful to our chief guest Mr. Jagdeep Kapoor, Head of Chancery – High Commission of India and his wife for gracing the occasion with their presence,” Anuj added.
