Excellent football skills have been on display at the Agege Stadium, Lagos, where youngsters of Pepsi Football Academy selected from across 14 centres in Nigeria have thrilled fans in a competition tagged, ‘Pepsi Festival of Youths.’

The youngsters, who were selected based on their impressive performances from various Pepsi Academy centres, were drawn from four zones: Kano, Aba, Ibadan and Lagos to compete in the tournament.

Commenting on this year’s Pepsi Academy youth programme, Director of Pepsi Football Academy, Dr. Kasimawo Laloko, said the annual festival was organized as a platform to showcase the young talents in the Academy to the world.

He said he was impressed with skills displayed by the players, an indication that the Academy is on the right path.

Laloko said: “Their ball control is remarkable. It shows that the coaches are doing great job and the players are listening to instruction. These players will do well and go on to play professional football if they continue to work hard and keep their head down. I see a bright future for Nigerian football with these new discoveries. I appreciate Pepsi for its continuous support.”
