Andrew-Oche-OdohIt is now official: 68 international players have been confirmed to take part in the 3e Actuaries Open tournament scheduled to hold at the Presidential Golf Course in Mongomo, Equatorial Guinea, from December 10 to 13.

According to a statement by the organisers, the international stars will join the locals and players with special status in an extended field of 80 players. “But the CUT will remain at first 30 players and ties,” the statement said.

Among the players listed for the competition are 11 Nigerians, seven Ghanaians, two Gabonese, three Camerounians, five Ivoirians, two Kenyans, one from France, three Gambians, five from the United Kingdom, two Brazilians, one Austrian and two South Africans.

The match referee is David Herd from the United Kingdom.
The organisers say they will cover the transportation of the 68 players during the tournament to ensure that everyone is a winner, adding, “there will be no need for any refunds by any player whether or not they make the CUT.
“However, only the first 30 players and ties will share in the Prize fund,” which has been confirmed to have been augmented to $150,000.

It added, “The limit deducted for tickets is $80,000 and the Prize Fund of $70,000 will be shared by the players.”
The winner will get $25, 000.

The statement reveals that arrangements will be made to ensure players arrived in Malabo between December 6 and 7 and depart December 14, 2015.
“All players will be flown to Mongomo on December 8 to allow for practise sessions on December 8 and 9. There will be an opening ceremony and a shoot-out on December 9 at the Djibloho Grand Hotel Golf Course where all players will be based. The Hotel maybe subject to change but this is not expected.
“ All the players will depart Mongomo December 13 and will be travelling back on December 14, except where flights are possible on December 13 for the European based players,” it added.

The organisers advise all the players to dress smartly to the opening ceremony, saying, “It is also important that all players are smart and professionally dressed during all competition.”

They add, however, that it may be necessary to wear the sponsor’s t-shirts for designated events.
“Players by taking part waive all image rights and give 3E Actuaries the right to use their image at its own discretion. This includes live broadcast of the event on local television,” the statement adds.

On the mode of payment to players, the statement says, “all winnings will be made in cash, except where it is in excess of $5,000 or where the players specifically request for an electronic transfer.”
The shoot-out of December 9, according to the organisers, carries a winning prize to be decided at the event time, while those who miss the CUT can take part in a Pro-Am on December 12.
