Organisers of the IAAF bronze label Okpekpe International 10km Road Race have set  May 1 and   May 4, 2016 as deadlines for submission of completed registration forms for the fourth edition of the race, which holds on May 7 in Okpekpe near Auchi, Edo state.
Spokesman for the race, Dare Esan, said in a statement at the weekend that international athletes wishing to participate in the race have until May 1 to submit their forms, while local athletes must submit theirs three days later.

“The entry form and other documents must be received by the deadline dates and entries mailed after the dates will not be accepted,” he said.

Esan also revealed that screening and accreditation of athletes will begin from May 5, adding, “we insist that athletes must complete the authentic application forms with duly certified medical report before confirmation can be given.”

He revealed that all relevant rules governing the organisation of the race will be obeyed to the letter, saying, “the race has already set an indelible mark as the first to be labelled by the IAAF in Nigeria with the bronze label certification we got last year and which has been renewed for this year.
