Okorocha lauds VCN Sports for grassroots sports growth

Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State has commended VCN Sports Limited for the growth of grassroots sports in the state.

He thanked VCN Sports Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Victor Nwaribeaku, for his unflinching support in the growth of sports as the recently organised football tournament held at Egbu Village in Awo-Idemili autonomous Community in Orsu Local Government Area of the state.

Okorocha said the yearly competition would further help to unite the youths and citizens of the community, adding that the efforts Nwaribeaku at grassroots sports would promote friendship, unity and progress among the indigenes.

The governor extolled Nwaribeaku as a true son of the community, who aside the grassroots sports development programme, he also provided and commissioned a 1.5km road project, borehole project and 300 KVA electric transformer.

Nwaribeaku, however, said he hoped to continue in his efforts at contributing his own quota towards the community and nation building.

According to the organisers, the third VCN football championship will hold at a yet to be announced date in Lagos this year.
