THERE will not be any dull moment for the soccer-loving Nigerian fans for the forthcoming Chile 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup as the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and StarTimes have concluded arrangements to broadcast live the matches involving the Golden Eaglets.

The Chief Executive Officer of StarTimes TV Enterprise, Maxwell Loko, who made the disclosure in a press conference to mark the 30-day countdown to the kickoff of the championship in Abuja on Thursday, promised that Nigerians will have the benefit of watching Eaglets both on the StarTimes sports channels and the terrestrial channels of all the Broadcasting Organization of Nigeria (BON).

“Nigerians truly know that severally the U-17 team has brought honour and glory to this country with victories in four different editions of the championship. We are hopeful that in the tradition, the present team will make Nigerians very proud.

“We have absolute faith in the team and the Nigerian youth. Therefore, we, at StarTimes will collaborate with some television stations in Nigeria through the Broadcasting Organisation of Nigeria (BON) to bring the games to every Nigerian home,” he promised.

He further noted that with most of the matches scheduled within two time belt of 7.00 p.m. to 8.00 p.m. and 10.00 p.m. to 11.00 pm, which according to him would be ideal for everybody, including workers, all the matches would be aired in High Definition (HD) channels.

Another innovation, according to Loko, is the replacement of the Repeat Broadcast with Highlight Shows for 25 minutes, adding that the highlights would be aired the day after each live match broadcast by StarTimes and all BON affiliated stations.
“StarTimes is also producing a TV Fans Show for the U-17 World Cup to further engage the fans for the World Cup.
