The Ladies Golfers Association of Nigeria (LGAN) is ready to join their colleagues from across the world tomorrow to celebrate this year’s Women’s Golf Day (WGD), which is a collaboration of the World Golf Foundation, International Golf Federation, LPGA, LET, NGCOA, EGCOA, PGA, PGA TOUR, European Tour.

Unveiling the programme for the event in Nigeria, Nigerian Golf Federation’s (NGF) Youth Development Officer, Emy Ekong said plans were already finalized to celebrate “all lady golfers on International Women’s Golf Day, June 6, 2017.

She said it would be a unique four hour experience, same day everywhere around the world, adding, “Nigeria has been invited to participate, therefore, the Nigeria Golf Federation (NGF) will collaborate with the Ladies Golf Association of Nigeria (LGAN) to celebrate our Women on June 6, 2017.”

Ekong revealed that the NGF/LGAN have identified four locations for the event, including the IBB Golf & Country Club, Abuja; Port Harcourt Golf Club; Ibori Golf & Country Club, Asaba and Ibadan Golf Club.

“Women’s Golf Day (Open Day) is a four-hour event where women and girls can experience golf for the first time, and where current and former golfers can play and engage with others interested in golf,” she said, while advising golfers to reach out to organizations, businesses, health clubs, and schools in their community to join in the celebration’’.

“We have been informed by the international organizers that a Bonny Island Golf Course, NLNG RA, Bonny Island, Rivers State, wrote to them directly requesting that they should be registered as a venue for the event. Organizers directed that they contact us. Necessary action will be taken with regards to that. After which email address of the contact will be forwarded to the coordinators in the South South to invite them to join at the Air Assault venue.”
