The management of Mibod Global Resources Limited and SIAO, an audit and assurance, tax and advisory firm based in Lagos, in collaboration with Vienna, Austria based Henry Lewis Promotion and U.S based boxing promotion outfit, Boss Lady Promotion, have concluded arrangements to identify young Nigerians who are good in other sports apart from football and athletics.

Speaking in Ikoyi, Lagos, chief executive officer, Mibod Golobal Resources, Ms Abiola Okoya, stated that the collaboration was designed to help discover young and new talents in other sporting areas in the country.

According to Okoya, sports development around the world is hinged on a number of factors including sports management and administration; facilities and equipment; sports personnel; funding/sponsorship; institutional development; competitions and festivals.

“To experience the desired growth in Nigerian sports, there has to be an encompassing National Sports Policy, which directly addresses the improvement of the above-mentioned factors.

But here’s the unfortunate Nigerian reality: majority, if not all Nigerian sports federations have no sports policy at federal, state and local government levels.

Also speaking at the event, founder Boss Lady Promotions, Devonne Canady, said that there are lots of talents waiting to be discovered in Nigeria, adding that they need better facilities and exposure to blossom.
