James wants Man United amidst interest from Chelsea
According to reports, Chelsea are ready to offer Real Madrid playmaker James Rodriguez £53 million.
The midfielder has fallen out of favour with manager Zinedine Zidane and has been linked with moves away from the Spanish capital.
Although transfer seems more likely with Real signing rivals Atletico Madrid’s Theo Hernandez, who was on loan at Alaves during 2016-17 season, no team has met the price tag of £53 million Florentino Perez has set for James.
Spanish media outlet, Don Balon are reporting that the Blues are ready to bumper up Rodriguez’s fee to keep him from joining Manchester United.
With Romelu Lukaku set to join the Red Devils and Tiemoue Bakayoko’s deal hindered, Antonio Conte’s eager to land the Colombian to reinforce his attacking choices.
But the Italian manager is on the verge of losing the 25-year-old to United after Don Balon revealed Rodriguez has his heart set on a move to Old Trafford.
Rodriguez would automatically bolster United’s attacking options alongside Lukaku, but can they challenge the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern in the Champions League? Probably not at the moment as those clubs are filled with world-class players all over. United can certainly challenge for the Premier League title if they somehow close these two deals.
