International friendly: Nigeria’s U-23 team meets Brazil today
Nigeria’s national U-23 team will today in Vitoria, Brazil, meet their Brazilian counterparts in an international friendly arranged to keep both team in shape for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
The had a feel of the match venue, Kleber Andrade Stadium, yesterday evening ahead of the game, which will kick off by 7.00 p.m. Brazil time, which is 11.00 p.m. in Nigeria.
Led by Coach Fatai Amoo in the absence of Samson Siasia, who is with the Super Eagles, the team is expected to test their readiness to confront the world in Rio with today’s game.
Coach Amoo has praised the new players invited to the Nigeria U-23 camp for their sense of professionalism and dedication to the team.
“I am really and truly impressed by the attitude of the new players especially, who have blended easily and shown no sign that they are new in the camp.
“I must also commend the high level of discipline and dedication among both the old and the new players. On the evidence of these, I have confidence that those players that will feature against Brazil will do Nigeria proud,” Amoo said on Tuesday, after the team’s second training session at the Clube Aert & Clube Aest football pitch in Vitoria.
The former international midfielder also commended the facilities provided by the NFF and the organisers for the team in Brazil.
