National heavyweight wrestling champion, Godspower Peace Ikpide, popularly known as “Power Lee De Great,” has vowed to ‘destroy’ his Camerounian opponent in the upcoming Pro Wrestling Africa (PWA) heavyweight title fight in Yaounde.

The contest, tagged clash of the Heavies Yaoundé 2015, is billed for Saturday September 19, at Palais de sports, Yaounde. ‘Power Lee’ will stake Nigeria’s pride against Michel Noudem of Cameroun. Speaking when his team visited The Guardian offices in Lagos yesterday, Power Lee said nothing would stop him from caging his Camerounian opponent in front of his home crowd on September 19.

But Power Lee, who was recently crowned the National Heavyweight champion, is soliciting support from Delta government, Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Isoko Development Union and other well meaning Nigerians to achieve the feat on September 19.

Power Lee, known for his no nonsense approach to his fights, hails from Owhe in Isoko North local government area of Delta State. He assured Nigerians yesterday that he has what it takes to be crowned the new Professional Wrestling Africa (PWA) Heavyweight champion if he got the necessary support.

Accompanied by the CEO, Silec Entertainment Concept, Sunny Irakpo, Power Lee said that having defended his national title against great wrestlers including the likes of Black Heritage, Red Scorpion, Ugo the Great Nail, Strong Bone Erujejeand most recently, Mighty Man, whom he defeated at Alesh Hotel International, Ajah, Lagos, he is ready for the battle of Yaounde. “I have a dream,” Power Lee said.

Power-LeeBut to make it come true, I need support from Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, my royal father HRM Romanus Ejirememe Inana 1, the Odiologbo of Owhe Kingdom, Isoko Development Union, Senator James Manager, Hon. Leo Ogor, Hon. T.K. Owhefere, NDDC, Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs, Isoko North and South Local Government Areas and other meaningful Nigerians.” If he wins the title in Cameroun on September 19, Power Lee is expected to defend it within one month in Nigeria.

The Guardian recalls that the wrestler won the Nigerian Wrestling Board of Control (NWB of C) national heavyweight title when he defeated De Lion Man on December 19, 2010.
