IBB Club to host last regional qualifier next Saturday

GOLFERS from northern Nigeria are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the World Golfers Nigeria Championship ship which is expected to berth next weekend at the northern city.

At least another 15 persons drawn from the five handicap flights are expected to pick their national final tickets from the qualifier, which is the last in the series.

By the time the exercise is completed, the list of national finalists would have swelled by 15, bringing the final list to 45. This is exclusive of those who would make the World Golfers Invitational event as guests of the title sponsor, MTN Nigeria Communication.

The regional qualifiers which started in Lagos where Ikeja Golf Club hosted the Western Regional Final soon moved to Port Harcourt where golfers from the south east geo-political zone Eastern held at the Port Harcourt Club.

Speaking on the tournament, Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer, MTN Nigeria, Bola Akingbade said, “through the WGC, MTN is again re-affirming its corporate values of leadership, innovation and relationship.

Akingbade who spoke through the Senior Manager, Segment Market, Cherry Eromosele, at the prize presentation ceremony in Port Harcourt noted that MTN places premium on its high value customers, hence its determination to sponsor the championship.

He said that the brand would always go the extra mile to identify with and satisfy the passion of its customers adding that the high valued customers are passionate about golf.
