SportsMillionaire to splash $1m on winner
Idea Quotient’s Vice President, Marketing and Corporate Communication, Rosemary Owuamanam, said the high stake was to propel participants to be well prepared to thrill the audience. She said: “The TV sports reality show is meant to impact on the society and make meaningful contribution to the global media and entertainment business.
“It’s a one-hour television live audience sports quiz programme that will be used to develop, test, reward and update the knowledge of sports lovers in Nigeria, with $1 million as the ultimate prize to be won. The winner must have answered 15 sports-related multiple questions correctly.
“Nigerians are sports lovers who keep memories of sporting events around the world and they deserve being rewarded for such talent.”
Owuamanam also said the reality show logo would be unveiled in an event in Lagos, where company executives, celebrities in the entertainment and sports industries are expected to be present. It will also give the sponsors and the organisers an opportunity to meet.
A South African media firm will handle the technical production of the programme and is expected to deploy state-of-the-art equipment to enhance quality output. The organisers of the project have already started making contact with a number of corporate outfits in order to incorporate them into the programme as sponsors.
