Football: Atletico’s Koke suffers hamstring injury
Atletico Madrid midfielder Koke could miss the his side’s derby clash with Real Madrid in two weeks’ time after picking up a hamstring injury in Atletico’s 2-0 win at Eibar.
The Spanish international was substituted with an hour played in the Basque country on Saturday and tests on Sunday revealed an injury that may also sideline him for Spain’s final two Euro 2016 qualifiers against Luxembourg and Ukraine next month.
“He suffered a grade 1-2 hamstring injury,” Atletico said in a statement on Sunday without setting a time frame for the 23-year-old’s return to action.
Atletico face Getafe at home and Villarreal away in La Liga before welcoming Real to the Vicente Calderon on October 4.
