The Third Awa Ibraheem Junior Golf Open Championship will hold at the Ikeja Golf Club from October 25 to 27, 2018, the Nigeria Golf Federation (NGF) has revealed.

According to the programme made available to The Guardian by NGF’s Youth Development Officer, Emy Ekong, the participating boys and girls from age 16 and below, are expected to start arriving in Lagos on October 24, have a feel of the course and get ready for the registration, which holds on October 25.

The contest holds on October 26 and 27, with the closing ceremony scheduled for October 27.

According to Ekong, “registration closes on October 19 to enable us make adequate arrangements for accommodation and feeding, which are free, as well as other logistics.”

The tournament, which features some of the country’s most promising golfers from age five to 16, is open to all Nigerian junior players.

Ekong affirmed that the competition offers two years school scholarships for each of the winners in the four boys’ and girls’ categories.
The categories are nine and under; 10 to 12, 13 to 15, and 16 to 18.
