Ekwebelem is Imo’s new sports commissioner

Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State at the weekend swore in the state’s new Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Robertson Ekwebelem. Okorocha had last week, through his Principal Secretary, Dr. Paschal Obi, forwarded Ekwebelem’s name to the Imo State House of Assembly for necessary legislative action.

The Governor had redeployed some commissioners same last week.In the event, which took place at the Government House, Owerri, Okorocha, urged the new commissioner to discharge his duties according to the pace and finesse of the Rescue Mission administration, warning that he would not hesitate to place the sledge hammer on him or any of his appointees if they erred in discharging their duties or were found wanting.

In the event attended by the Ekwebelem’s relations, friends and the state government officials, Ekwebelem promised to discharge his new duties to the best of his ability, thanking the governor for the opportunity to serve the state.
