Reigning African Boxing Union (ABU) light welterweight champion, Stanley “Edo Boy” Eribo, has vowed to defend his title when he fights Tanzania’s Ramadhani Shauri at GOtv Boxing Night 12 on 1 October.

Speaking in Lagos yesterday, Edo Boy said the event slated to hold at the Indoor Sports Hall of the National Stadium, Lagos, will see him at his best.
“Shauri will regret accepting to fight me. The ABU title is important to me. I am not ready to relinquish it yet, not to Shauri, not anybody,” he said.

Aside from the ABU title fight, three other title fights are lined up. Olaide “Fijaborn” will defend his West African Boxing Union light welterweight title against Ghana’s Bilal Mohammed. Also, Oto “Joe Boy” Joseph will attempt to win the Commonwealth Africa lightweight title, when he takes on Kenya’s Frank Nyakesa, who is a replacement for Dillon Yule of South Africa. Yule sustained injury in training on Wednesday and pulled out of the fight.
West African featherweight champion, Waidi “Skoro” Usman will take on Tanzania’s Juma Fundi in an international challenge bout. Other bouts will see Rilwan “Baby Face” Babatunde fighting Tombraye “Tornado” Christmas in a light welterweight duel, while Samuel Opaogun will confront Rilwan “Real One” Oladosu. In the light heavyweight category, Kabiru “KBGodson” Towolawi will face Akeem Adebayo.
