Dala Hard Court Tennis main draw begins

The 2017 Dala Hard Court Tennis Championships, which served off in Kano at the weekend, enters the main draw today with the qualifiers joining the 30 ranked players in the business end of the competition.

The 31st edition of the tournament started on November 17 and will end on November 25.

A statement by Tournament Director, Yusuf Datti, disclosed that the nine-day fiesta approved by the Nigerian Tennis Federation (NTF) has N17 million as prize money to be shared by the winners.

It named Dangote Group, Fidelity and First banks as main sponsors, adding that the sum will also cover accommodation and feeding of players and national officials throughout the tournament.

“His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kano State, Dr. Umar Abdullahi Ganduje is expected to be the special guest of honour at the final/closing ceremony of the championship,” Yusuf Datti stated.
