LadipoCOWRIE Rugby Football Club at the weekend defeated Gosar RFC 40-3 to emerge champions of the ongoing CMB Building Maintenance and Investment Company Limited sponsored league for the fourth straight session.

Gosar RFC currently fourth on the table after 12 games with 19 points from five wins and six losses, are expected to win their remaining matches to be among the top three teams.

According to the Vice President of Nigeria Rugby Federation, Tunji Fasimoye, “despite emerging champions of the league, Cowrie RFC still has an outstanding game with Police R F C this weekend.”

Police RFC still basking in the euphoria of their 97-0 dominant victory over Eco II RFC on match day 10 will certainly work hard to gain points from the league champions Cowrie RFC to put them on track as the league draws to a close.

At the end of match day 10, Cowrie RFC winger, Christian Ogar, leads the league’s scorer chart with 34 tries, one conversion, two penalty conversions, penning down 178 points in the process while Oyebola Sulymon of Police RFC is in second position with 8 tries, 33 conversions, and four penalty conversions penning down 118 points. National team and Cowrie RFC captain, Azeez Ladipo, is in the third spot with 105 points.
