AFCON Qualifiers: Siasia axes Mohammed, Oduduwa, Dimgba
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on Monday said that the Acting Super Eagles Coach, Samson Siasia, had barred three players from the Super Eagles camp at the Bolton White Apartment.
A statement by Ademola Olajire, NFF’s Spokesman, said in Lagos that defender Segun Oduduwa and midfielders Stanley Dimgba and
Usman Mohammed were axed for reporting late to the U-23 team camp.
The statement said that the trio were late without permission.
“We cannot have those three in camp anymore. This is very serious business, and only serious-minded persons can be involved.
“They reported late to the U-23 team camp, so they cannot be tolerated in the camp of the senior team.
“I have said it in the past few days that the right mentality will count big among the traits we are looking for in the players to feature against Egypt.
“All three players were in the U-23 squad that won the Africa U-23 Cup of Nations in Senegal in December 2015,’’ the statement said.
The NFF added that the Super Eagles coach would not tolerate any act of indiscipline in his camp.
“The Super Eagles’ new boss is known to be a disciplinarian. He threw out star midfielder Kingsley Sokari.
“He also axed the talented forward Daniel Etor from his squad to the Africa U-23 Cup of Nations after the duo opted to play for their clubs
Enyimba FC.
“Both players played in a final of the Nigerian Premier Football League (NPFL) season in Lagos in November 2015 against his instructions,’’ it said.
NFF also said that the exclusion of the trio means that only 40 players are now in contention for shirts for 2017 Africa Cup of
Nations double date against Egypt.
The team will include 19 home boys who will train for two weeks before the arrival of 21 overseas-based players on the week of the first leg in Kaduna.

The two who played for their team finals should not have been punished, that was enough excuse.
We will review and take appropriate action.
