Ibadan team, Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) yesterday won their first away game of the season when they beat Heartland of Owerri 3-1 at the Rojenny Stadium, Oba, near Onitsha.

3SC-PIbadan team, Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) yesterday won their first away game of the season when they beat Heartland of Owerri 3-1 at the Rojenny Stadium, Oba, near Onitsha.

The game, which heralded another tie involving FC IfeanyiUbah and Sunshine Stars, was a carry over from Sunday’s game washed out by heavy downpour.

3SC opened scores in the 36th minute through Tope Orelope, but Heartland pegged them back in the 45th minute through new boy, Fortune Omoniwari, who scored on his debut game. The first half ended 1-1.

The Gbenga Ogunbote boys came into the second half determined to take the day with Orelope, Cletus Itodo and Najeem Olulokun leading the onslaught. Their efforts paid off when new signing, Itodo, and Olukokun scored to make scores 3-1 and take the Ibadan team’s points to 32 from 22 games. They now occupy the ninth position on the Glo Premier League log.

In the other game played at the same venue also yesterday, Daniel Amokachi’s dream of recording victory in his debut game as FC IfeanyiUbah’s coach was thwarted by a hard-fighting Sunshine Stars, who forced the Nnewi side to a goalless draw.

The result means that Enyimba, which beat Lobi stars 2-1 in Aba on Sunday, maintain the top position on the log with 41 points, one more than second-placed Sunshine Stars.
