It promises yet another weekend of exhilarating golf at the Ikeja Golf Club, where the best corporate players are expected to gather to fight for bragging rights and honours at the greens.

This time the battle is for the Ikeja Golf Club Corporate Challenge Cup title, which will tee off this weekend with 20 teams, the club’s Competition Secretary, Jolomi Ideh has revealed.

Ideh listed Oak Pensions, BOAB, Adeco, Ubosi Eleh and Co, Sterling Bank, Jungle Film Works, Alpha Pharmacy, Mutual Benefit Assurance, Healthline Limited, Xpress Solutions, Oceanic Health, ICMA, Yoke Solutions, Corporate Media and Park Inn By Radisson as some of the participants.

Others are Pepsi, Strasscorp, Wisefare/Golfview Hotels, Cambridge College and Scale Trade Limited.

Speaking ahead of the competition, Ideh said he expects this year’s edition to be keenly contested in view of the caliber of players expected to be on parade.

“Everybody is looking forward to this weekend’s competition and if you have been following the preparations so far you will know that this year’s event will be keenly contested,” Ideh said.

Also speaking, the club’s Captain, Niyi Latinwo said the success recorded in the yearly event testifies to the importance of the competition in the club.

Apart from trophies to be awarded the winners, choice position within the golf course will also be made available for the top finishers in the competition.

The Captain added that apart from the course action, the event also offers participants opportunity to network and make their businesses known to fellow members.

“One of the reasons why this competition is popular in Ikeja is because of the opportunity it offers members in the areas of making their businesses known to members”, Latinwo added.
