MTN Project Fame 8…Battle Begins For 14 Finalists

fame-projectAfter the rigorous process of auditioning thousands of young talents across West Africa, the stage is now set for the season eight of MTN Project Fame West Africa.

As usual, the new season opened last week with the traditional Gala Night at the Ultima Studios, Lekki, Lagos, where 18 contestants battled for slots in the game of fame and fortune.

At the end of the day, 14 out of the 18 were selected to move into the Academy where they will go head to head for the grand prize. Aside from the task, these lucky talents with have the rare opportunity of being groomed by some of the best hands in the country’s creative industry.

The contestants include Adanoritsewo Gold Tosanwumi, a graduate of Sociology from the Delta State University, 21-year-old Emmanuel Amos Anderson, who is currently studying International Relations at IRGIB Africa University, Cotonou, Funmilayo Comfort Arewa, a 24 year old is a Lagos State University alumnus and Ghana’s Stephen Sackitey Okletey Biko, who had the opportunity of sharing the stage with Lauryn Hill as a backup singer.

The list also include 22-year-old music enthusiast and graduate of Computer Engineering from Covenant University, Ogun State, Chike Osebuka Ezekpeazu, Deborah Ohiri, an embodiment of persistence and commitment, who had made two unsuccessful attempts to get into the Academy, Deinde Okubajo, a graduate of Business Management from the University of Leicester, Jeffrey Ufedo Akor, a Sound Engineering graduate from the SAE Institute, Cape Town and Jennifer Chioma Amadi, a Lagos based single lady seeking admission into the university.

Others include Joy Chukwuma, whose whimsical sense of humour is definitely hard to miss, Amma Korantema Kumi, a 26-year-old with BSc in Entomology and Wild Life from the University of Cape Coast, Ghana, Tejiri Odjighoro, a first class Electrical Electronics Engineering graduate of Afe Babalola University, Nigeria-born-Ghanaian Richie Tay, who started playing the guitar even before he started singing and Olanma Pearl Awa-Agwu, a 21-year-old graduate of Foreign Languages from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.
