Wizkid, Davido pitched against each other for MTV Europe African Best Award

With the nomination list for the 24th annual MTV Europe Music Award (MTV EMA) officially released, Africa is packed full with splendid talents, who have had an impressive year under review.

The continent is filled with well-known countless hits by Nigerian artistes made in year 2016 and 2017, it’s hard to guess which one of these acts that will win the award for Best International Act (Africa), as they all deserve it looking back at the work they have done.

Among these six nominated artistes for the trophy, Wizkid and Davido (Nigeria) standout as top performers. The duo from Lagos, are pitched against each other, much as they have been for lengthy periods of their careers.

Other nominated artistes include Babes Wodumo and Nasty C from South Africa, C4 Pedro from Angola and Nyashinski from Kenya. Wizkid in support of Mr Eazi, took to his twitter to wish him luck. He posted a photo of the Skin tight crooner with the caption, “Proud of this guy @mreazi! Bring it home!!”

Excited Mr Eazi in response to the nomination on his Instagram said, “Thank you BET for the recognition! Big up my team (You included) it’s been a great year!! Let’s do this for NG GH!!! #Lifeiseazi”

Davido responding to the nomination on his Instagram said, “Comeback season!!!!! I won this back in 2014!! #teamdavido lets do it again!! See you at the 2017 BET awards June!!”

It will be both Tekno and Mr. Eazi’s first time being nominated for this category. Beyoncé is nominated for the most awards, totaling seven followed by Bruno Mars, who is nominated for five.

Voting will be done on the EMA website, with winners to be announced on Sunday, November 12, when the 2017 MTV EMA will be broadcasted live around the globe from The SSE Arena, Wembley in London.
