Though officially marked on February 14 yearly, weekend preceding the D-Day is usually a valentine weekend, with series of events lined up. And when February 14 falls on a weekend, then it a bumper val.

If you not the outgoing type, you may fancy staying indoor with your loved one and probably watch movies if power distribution companies permit. In fact, just buy fuel and power your generator; light situation in the country, especially Lagos, has been epileptic in the New Year.

But if you are an extrovert, there are lots of things to do, including going to the malls to have fun. If you don’t have enough cash, just go there and window-shop, take selfies and possible see movies; movie tickets are not that expensive. Well, you can as well spare some cash to give your lover a treat at the food court; their prizes are pocket friendly.

Meanwhile, as part of this year’s Valentines Day celebration, Eko Hotel & Suites in collaboration with Buckwyld Media Network will on Saturday, February 11, stage a special concert tagged Eargasm. The gig, which will feature leading Nigeria artistes including 2Baba, will hold at the Eko Convention Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Speaking at a press briefing held recently in Lagos to announce the concert, 2Baba describe Eargasm as an exciting event, which will not only stand out, but also surpass all other events that will take place within the same period.

“Every other event that will take place that period will be like normal events, no extra activity. This is going to be classy and like the name suggests, Eargasm is going to be ‘ear-blowing’. The kind of music that you will listen to on that day is not going to be your everyday kind of music,” he remarked.

2Baba will be performing at Eargasm alongside Niyola, Tekno, Adekunle Gold, Sir Shina Peters, Yinka Davies, Kelly Hansome, Acetune, Bovi, DJ Neptune and other A-list Nigerian artistes. The gig is aimed at presenting music lovers with a unique and exciting blend of classic, as well as creating a convergence of fans from diverse generations.

Tagged Wazobia FM Carnival, the event is billed for February 11 and 12, at the Muri Okunola Park, Victoria Island. It promises to be an amazing experience to share with family and friends with music concerts, comedy performances, trade fair, food and beverages, fashion exhibition, dance troops, sports village, live games, kids section with free wi-fi for guests. On the other hand, singer Timi Dakolo will be headlining his Valentine’s Day show, Ribbons ‘n’ Roses in Lagos. The show, which combines artistes’ expressions of love through dance and music, will be holding for the fourth time since it launched in 2012.

Though it failed to hold in 2014 and 2015 due to Timi’s international engagements and the 2015 general elections, the event will return on February 14, at the Grand Ball Room, Eko Hotels, Victoria Island. Dubbed Soul of Love edition, the night of lovers will also see other popular Nigerian entertainers take turns on stage to delight guests.
