NO doubt, Nollywood has greatly promoted Nigeria across the globe and earned billions of dollars for practitioners, but the question now is does the industry promote a culture of immorality? Aside from nude scenes viewers watch on screen, there’s a high level of sexual immorality among practitioners, with up coming actresses at the receiving end.

An Islamic cleric, Imam Memood Mushood, while urging Nigerian actresses to teach morals through their acting in a chat with nigeriafilms.com, was quoted as saying “… these actresses are talented, no doubt about that, but what we expect them to teach young ladies in the society is not what they are doing. There were times when promiscuous dressing in Nigerian movies used to be indecency and immorality, but today, without doubt, such dressing have become a fashion trend. Not that alone, it has come to represent some form of civilization.”

Worried by the level of immorality in industry, Dabz Movie Production has tackle the ugly trend in a new movie, Friends or Foe. Starring burgeoning actress Belinda Effah, Daniella Okeke and Jojo Charry, the movie, which was directed by Chinedu Ejike Obim, will surely set the stage for another round of discuss in the industry.

Written based on true-life story, with enthralling scenes that will keep movie-buffs on the tip of their seats, the movie probes deeply into variety of issues ravaging the industry.

“We centered it on four career beautiful ladies; a producer, an upcoming musician, A-list actress and an alleged celebrity stylist. In fact, it’s a controversial true-life story based on lies, deceit and betrayal. The question that will be left in the minds of viewers would be if the four ladies are friends or foes; and that’s where suspense will come in,” the producer Dabby Chimere hinted.

Since the trailer of Friends or Foes was released online, it has generated mixed reactions from fans and practitioners. However, the move highlights the many tough challenges upcoming actresses undergo in the hands of movie producers for roles, and what celebrities go through in an effort to remain in the news.

Dabz Movie Production had in the past produced movies such as Island Babes, 2nd Honeymoon and Misplaced Desire.
