Determined to break barriers in the quest for success in his musical career, upcoming and talented singer, Ochai Miwon sees bright future and opportunity in everything and everyone.

The Idoma, Benue native is the first son of my mother and second son of his father. He had his early education in Sokoto State, before he gained admission to the Federal Polytechnic, Idah, Kogi State, where he studied public administration, though his dream course was theatre arts.

According to him, music has been part of him from early age, though father did not give his approval of it; his mother encouraged me. He was motivated to take up music by the way and how P-Square, 2face and Flavour thrilled their audience on stage. After his higher education, he enlisted for a singing competition, where he came second.

Eight years in the industry, he sings inspirational songs, hip-hop, and RnB. With couple of singles, he is working on his album, which he hopes to release soon.

“You can’t just drop any album without considering the promotional aspect of it. Entertainment is beyond just dropping an album; you need good promotion aspect before you can think of doing your album. Currently, I’m not financially okay to embark on such a project. Though, I have songs on ground that I have not produced yet, there is more that I want to produce,” he said

Though he has performed at different shows, the icing on the pack was Voice of Sahara, a singing competition involving Christians and Muslims powered by telecom service provider, Airtel, and 2face being the ambassador, his wife Annie and Sound Sultan were on ground to witness the show.

“I went there after the event, we did a get together at the stadium. When I sang my song, 2face was there, I brought him out and we danced together, same with Sound Sultan. 2face encouraged me, which is why I am still pushing up till now.”

Asked what his future aspirations are, Ochai said, “I want to become famous for people to know and learn something from me and also to give a helping hand to the needy, because I know what others feel when not in a better position and I know God will see me through.”

On musical collaboration, he add: “I am still working towards that, because it takes financial aspect to go on musical collaboration, maybe in the aspect of management, because you must have a record label and that is what I don’t have for now. It is that management aspect that is taking me down for now.

“I would love to work with PSquare, 2face and flavour. Though our patterns are quite different, they base on rap, indigenous music, while I do my songs in English and a little bit of Igbo because I grew up with the Igbos, I love Igbo language. I would love to partner with Phyno, Flavour, Tekno, even J-Martins. I don’t look down on anybody; I believe that greatness comes from different places. J-Martins can be of help to me, not also forgetting Mavins record, Don Jazzy.
