Committed to identifying and celebrating people who are not defined by one skill or talent, but are pursuing several things and succeeding at them, French cognac, Rémy Martin recently unveiled music video director turn filmmaker, Kemi Adetiba and fashion designer, Adebayo Oke Lawal of Orange Culture, as influencers for the brand’s One Life Live Them campaign in Lagos.

Also joining the campaign as an influencer is Onyinyechi Ilobi-Maduka, who won the Slash Generation competition. After successfully going through all the stages of the competition, Onyinyechi joins Obinna Mbagwu as the second winner.

The campaign is a call to live a richer, larger life, expand horizons and seize all opportunities that life can offer, beyond the one-dimensional path that could be embraced.

Since its launch two years ago, the cognac brand has consistently recognised and celebrated outstanding individuals for their multi-talents and achievements. The competition was introduced to encourage and inspire people to share their stories about how they embody the campaign. Participants created their personalised slash-cards to show the many lives they live.

As a true trailblazer, Oke-Lawal keeps breaking new grounds and taking risks that push him beyond limits, anywhere he finds himself. With a Masters in International Business from Northumbria University, UK, he moved back to Nigeria to start his career in fashion, interning with various fashion brands.

He has since nurture his fashion outfit, Orange Culture to one of the biggest menswear brands in Africa, with several international and local recognitions, and featuring in prestige publications such as Vogue, New York Times, CNN, BET, and MTV among others.

Recently, the brand collaborated with Aye crooner, Davido, on a collection, which is currently stocked at one of the leading departmental stores in the world, Selfridges (London).

From working as an environmental biologist at the National Oil Spill Detection and Response Agency to co-owning a female fashion brand, iWearAsika, Onyinyechi also doubles as a fashion illustrator and product designer, with the ability to deliver excellent results on clients’ projects.
