Fashion entrepreneur and CEO House of GYMT, Princess Kelechi Romeo Oghene will tomorrow host an award night cum graduation ceremony for students of her GMYT Fashion Academy, with OAP Daddy Freeze and Shirley Igwe as hosts.

Holding at the Grand Ball Room of Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, the ball will see the celebration of 31 graduating students of the Academy and the official launch of their individual brands at the event expected to attract top notch guests including fashion industry luminaries, corporate leaders, philanthropists and top government officials, who are passionate about the growth of the Nigerian economy and the role women play in the growth of the economy.

Speaking of the coming event, Princess Oghene said she’s bent on empowering more women through fashion, which she described as her strength. This, according to her, informed the setting up of her fashion academy.

“They need to officially present their collections made while still at the academy to the entire world so that nobody will tomorrow question the originality of their brands and designs. That is the essence of the Frozen Ball holding on Sunday. I want them to establish contacts, build network for people to patronize them so they can also be able to impact on many others in the society while building a virile fashion industry in Nigeria,” she said.

During the graduation ceremony, award and gifts will be presented to the overall best graduating student, while special recognition awards will also be bestowed on some fashion icons and role models in the Nigeria fashion industry, including Mrs. Joan Okorodudu, CEO, Isis Models.

Princess Oghene has proven to be one of the most inspiring fashion entrepreneurs in Africa. Her positive impact in her community and the society at large has earned her myriad of awards and good reputation too. Her GMYT Foundation is an empowerment platform for under privileged women to learn various aspects of fashion illustration, design, and manufacture via scholarship provisions to the GMYT Fashion Academy.
