Ooni Of Ife Weds Today

The Ooni of Ile-Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi’s wedding to Otiti Zainab Wuraola Obanor takes place today, according to information gathered from the wedding invitation.

The traditional wedding holds at the Edo Hotel in GRA, Benin City, followed by a thanksgiving ceremony tomorrow at the Royal Court of Ife, Aafin Enuwa Square in Ile-Ife, Osun State.

It was also learnt that the wedding is considered strategic, as Ile-Ife, the cradle of the Yoruba race, is regarded as the spiritual headquarters of the Yoruba people.

Rich and famous luxury goods tycoon, John Obayuwana of Polo Nigeria Limited, is to play a prominent role at the traditional marriage ceremony.

It would be recalled that Oba Ogunwusi and his first wife, Adebukola, have been having issues, but they decided not to create any scene so as not to jeopardise his chances during the Ooni selection process.

Sources claimed that she is no longer living with the Ooni, a sign that she is no longer recognised as the king’s wife.
