The tragedy for Nigerians is that all we could do to replace an incompetent and corrupt Jonathan is to put in his place a clueless and visionless spent dictator whose only claim to the throne he labored for so long to occupy is the mirage of “incorruptibility”. I suspected we were going to be in trouble when Buhari promised to make $1 = N1 and pay unemployed workers N5,000 per month in a country without a credible database and ID system when the governments at all levels cannot even find the money to pay all the current workers. The scale of destruction being unleashed on Nigeria by these clueless politicians is frightening for those who understand the impact of blatantly cutting the chain in the circular flow of money and spreading poverty to all lower levels of the population. This conspired fraud called “fuel subsidy” is really making me angry against this clueless president. Why does he want to continue to enrich those sabotaging the economy on the guise of protecting the common man from the high price of petrol when we still end up paying up to N200 per litre after endless hours on the queue after he had wasted N613 Billion on subsidies? Look at the arithmetic president clueless: At the current market price of gasoline in the United States, if I strip off the U.S government taxes and simply export gasoline to Nigeria to sell in the open market, I promise that Nigerians can buy petrol to their hearts’ desire at a price not exceeding N120 per litre without any government subsidies! And with that free market economics, many importers will flood the market and quickly drop the price to about N105 per litre under the current price in Texas. Does Buhari understand the amount of mass transit infrastructure that Nigeria can build by diverting the $6 Billion a year of fuel subsidy to true capital development in a way that truly helps the masses? Look at the way the euphoria over improved electricity supply at the beginning of Buhari’s reign is now turning into disillusionment. Some of his supporters were quick to claim victory over the saboteurs under the assumption of the “fear of Buhari”. How can the steely thieves with tentacles in all arms of government be afraid of a “go-slow”, “do-nothing”, junketing old guy who does not understand development economics? Wake up Nigerians and help yourselves by getting this clueless and spent generation of thieving bastards out of your lives! If you let me them rig themselves into power in four years time, don’t blame anybody else- blame yourselves.
