It was a double celebration on September 11, 2017, for Mo Abudu, the C.E.O of EbonyLife TV and Ebony Films as she turned a year older. This celebration came just two days after her second movie as a Producer, “The Royal Hibiscus Hotel,” received rave reviews from some of the world’s top actors, directors and producers. The cast and crew of the movie took out time to celebrate with Mo Abudu at the Toca Restaurant in Toronto’s Ritz Carlton in Canada.

To be a visionary is to see far ahead and beyond the limited sights of one’s contemporaries, to glean the inviting land of Canaan while yet in the wilderness and set off fearlessly in pursuit of conquest. The foregoing aptly captures the actions of the woman, who seemingly emerged from nowhere to take the world of digital broadcasting by storm.

In a perilous field where angels fear to tread, Mo, who burst into the national limelight with her talk show, Moments with Mo, stepped into the murky waters and waded onto the shores of discovery. Ever since she launched Ebony Life Television in July 2014, the TV station has grown in leaps and bounds, becoming a prime station that broadcasts interesting African content to thousands of loyal viewers across the continent.
