Miss Niger Delta Beauty Pageant

The 17th edition of the Miss Niger Delta Peace Cultural pageant audition and screening holds today at the pool side, Las Vegas Lounge, Titanic View Hotel, World Bank Road, Owerri.

A press statement by the Executive and External Relations Director, Pageant and Development Network, Mildred Emmanuel in Port Harcourt, stated that the audition is in continuation of the audition exercise carried out in the Niger Delta States (Abia, Imo, Ondo, Edo, Delta, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Rivers and Bayelsa) to select competent and credible contestants for the main event which comes up in Owerri later in the year.

According to Emmanuel contestants must be indigenes of the Niger Delta region, must be age between 18 and 25 years with a minimum of West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE); 5ft 8inches tall or more, not convicted of any criminal offence; must be prepared as a beauty queen to be a role model, carry out roles as an ambassador for peace, development and positive transformation.

“The pageant is a platform to promote re-orientation of positive values among female youths of Niger Delta, skills and entrepreneurial development, economic for self reliance, hard work, good conduct and project the region positively for investment and sustainable development.” she stated.
