Little Drops Of Happy, a blockbuster movie produced and directed by Grace Edwin-Okon is set to hit the cinema on November 18. The movie, which is co-produced by Pinnacle Medical Services Speakout Initiative, with the backing of the American Embassy, would premier at the Genesis Deluxe Cinema, Lekki, Lagos.

The movie featuring top class actors like Ngozi Nwosu, Mercy Aigbe, Osas Ighodaro Ajibade, Ayoola Ayoola and a host of others clearly highlights the struggle of people dealing with depression.

Speaking at a press briefing and screening, the executive Producer of the movie, the Medical Director of Pinnacle Medical Services and multiple award winning Mental Health Physician and Advocate, Dr. Maymunah Kadiri, spoke glowingly of the cooperation of members of the cast and crew, which made the film a pleasant experience.

According to her, the movie is to help address the issue of depression and help in the control of stress in the country, adding that based on the World Health Organization (WHO) data, women are mostly prone to depression for reasons such as loss of parents at early age, having a cheating spouse or bad marriage; if they have kids below the age of 14, and if they are idle with no job keeping them busy.

“We decided not to make it too medical so as to make everyone follow through and relate with it,” she said. According to Osas Ighodaro-Ajibade who played the role of Mano OJo, wife of Femi Ojo, a movie star, abusive and cheating husband,

She said, “The movie brought out the best in my acting. As a professional I like to bring out the best in me and also challenge myself. Playing the role was new for me, but with the help of the cast and crew who were all professional with their jobs, I put out my best.

“This movie deals with the issue of depression, and it is very important in our society. I would say that compared to the past, we are doing a better job in tackling the issue of stress and depression, which is affecting a lot of people today, and this movie is no exception to that.”

She notes that movie lovers will like new flick, as it is not only entertaining but also educating. “Medical experts and practitioners will find it very easy to relate to. The movie did not only creates awareness regarding depression, it also teaches how to handle the ailment,” Ighodaro-Ajibade stated.
