The show, which is currently on a 27-city tour, was a big bang, as six of Nigeria’s biggest stand-up comedians converged on the Public Service Institute of Nigeria, Dutsen-Alhaji, Kubwa, venue of the show.

It was laughter unlimited in the Abuja bustling suburb of Kubwa, as one of the nation’s telecom service provider, Globacom comedy concert, Glo Laffta Fest landed in the town.

The show, which is currently on a 27-city tour, was a big bang, as six of Nigeria’s biggest stand-up comedians converged on the Public Service Institute of Nigeria, Dutsen-Alhaji, Kubwa, venue of the show.

Apart from the star comedians, seven fledgling humour merchants also hit the marquee provided by the teleco company to host the show. The new acts included Headmaster Steve, Sergeant Keita, Miracle, Phantom AY, MC Humble Igwe, Charly White and Mr. Steve.

The comedians picked on several subjects that resonated with the day-to-day living of the people. The diminutive MC Humble Igwe was a stunner. He came with props and delivered hit upon hit of original jokes, beginning with self-deprecating jabs at his own stature. He left the audience in stitches, showing clearly that he is ready for the big stage.

The big boys took over with Lagos-based Princewill Odeh, joking about male and female relationship, among other subjects. He raised the bar for the other acts and left the stage with a loud ovation.

De Don took the show to the next level with jokes centered on philandering couples, positing that in addition to the damnation of hell fire, infidelity has temporal consequences. Buchi, Acapella, Gordons and I Go Dye wrapped up the night of fun on a high note, tickling the audience like never before.

With Nollywood icons Mama Gee and Sani Danja as guest stars, and delectable Juliet Ibrahim and Uche Jombo as show compeers, the marquee was filled to overflowing and some late fans were turned back.

Also at the venue were Special Adviser to President Mohammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, who commended the telecom company for organising the show, which he described as highly beneficial to human nature because of its therapeutic effects.

The train moves Lagos and would hold tomorrow at the 10 Degrees Event Centre, Oregun, Ikeja. Other cities that will host the show in the weeks ahead include, Makurdi, Ikorodu, FESTAC, Ajah, Suleja, Ibadan, Kano, Port Harcourt, Lokoja, and Anyigba.
