LACampagne Tropicana Resort, one of the foremost African theme resorts in Ikegun, Ibeju-Lekki area of Lagos State, is set to expand its business and explore the huge tourism opportunity in East Africa.

The resort, which sits on 65 acres of land and overlooks the Atlantic Ocean, is redefining the tourism potentials of Nigeria with a view to market the resort to other parts of the world.

LaCampagne plans to start the expansion with Africa for a veritable channel of improving foreign exchange, employment generation and skills transfer.

President of the resort, Wanle Akinboboye, stated this recently in Lagos during the company’s high-level discussions with a consortium of Projects Advisers and Financial Arrangers, coordinated by ICMG Securities Limited, Crowland and Co. of Nigeria and Edenbul of Kenya.

ICMG Securities Ltd is a Nigerian investment-banking firm with demonstrated performance across many markets, while Edenbul is a premium business development company based in Kenya under the leadership of Manz Denga, a Harvard graduate with clear understanding of business development in Africa.

At the parley, ICMG said it welcomes such a project as it offers great prospects for both the Nigerian and East African economies.

According to Frans Ojielu, ICMG’s Financial Advisor/Project Director: “ICMG is very excited to work with tested partners to take the Tropicana to the African market space and showcase its strides in resorts and entertainment in the last 20 years.”

About two hours drive from Victoria Island, LaCampagne Tropicana Resort offers a unique blend of natural environment, which includes a fresh blend of natural environment that includes a fresh water lake, accessible mangrove forest, a savannah, extensive sand beach and warm Atlantic sea.

The resort has facilities of bespoke quality that include accommodation, conference facilities, and SPA fitness centre. The activities also include hiking, laundry, horse riding, acqua acrobatic and ocean water fishing.

In addition to the expansion into East Africa, the resort is also expanding the Lekki outfit and developing a 270 acre river resort in Koton in Kogi State, while plans are underway to extend the frontiers to other states in Nigeria in line with the vision of the current democratic dispensation to make Nigeria a tourism destination country.

The new expansion initiative hinges on three concepts: African theme resort, entertainment and security. The African themed resort captures culture in the real African perspective.
