Glo-Sponsored Professor Johnbull cast and crew on set for Season 6

The cast and production crew of Globacom-sponsored television sitcom, Professor Johnbull, have arrived Enugu, as the shoot for Season 6 of the popular drama series commenced.

The cast and production crew of Globacom-sponsored television sitcom, Professor Johnbull, have arrived Enugu, as the shoot for Season 6 of the popular drama series commenced.

Feelers from Globacom, executive producer of the series, indicated that some cast and crewmembers of the sitcom, arrived the Coal City last Friday, while the remaining members joined mid-week.

“I can confirm to you that virtually everybody is on ground and shooting has commenced in earnest for Season 6,” a member of the production crew disclosed.

The sitcom which runs on NTA Network, NTA International on DSTV Channel 251 and NTA on StarTimes on Tuesdays at 8.30pm with a repeat broadcast on Fridays on the same channels and time, is a didactic but hilarious series of 30-minute episodes, which centre round the family of a retired academic, Professor Johnbull, played by Nollywood star actor, Kanayo O. Kanayo.

The professor and his family, comprising his daughter, Elizabeth (Queen Nwokoye), his house help, Nje (Angela Okorie) and kinsman, Jeroboam, aka Boam (Osita Iheme) live in an Enugu neighbourhood where he is also a community leader. His residence is beehive of constant activities as a result of his respected views and way of handling knotty societal issues of conflict.

Other members of the cast include Nollywood stars: Yomi Fash Lanso, who plays the role of a restaurateur, Olaniyi Olanipekun; Funky Mallam as Mai Doya (the yam seller), his sales girl, Ufoma played Bimbo Akintola.

There is also, Professor Johnbull’s security man, Abednego, played by Martins Nebo; Bidemi Kosoko as Jumoke; Imeh Bishop as Etuk; Stephen Odimgbe as Flash, while Ogus Baba plays Samson in the series.

Not missing in the actions are veterans, Chief Chika Okpala, popularly known as Zebrudayah; Patience Ozokwor well known by the moniker, Mama G, and Richard Mofe-Damijo (RMD), all making cameo appearances.

Also, musical artistes such as Chinedu Okolie (Flavour Nabania) and Korede Bello have made appearance in some episodes.

While Tchidi Chikere produces the series, Chief Okpala and RMD serve as consultants to the production crew.
