‘No Vacancy In Anambra Government House’

The governor has just done so well. Many roads were constructed, while more are ongoing. Some are still being flagged off and others regularly maintained.

The Amaka Teaching Hospital is about being completed, generating sets, computers and scientific equipments have been donated to various secondary schools in the state.

Cheques for N2million have just been released to school principals for the renovation of their science laboratories, and that is only the first phase.

Soon, buses will be distributed to all the schools. Construction is at top speed at the Anambra State University, same at the College of Education at Nsugbe, which has also been given ambulances.

The state secretariat is completed and now occupied, while the second phase is almost completed. The Kenneth Dike Library is now ready, while transformers are still being donated to the communities.

The governor has really touched the lives of the citizens in many ways at the same time.

Outside these, what message has he for the citizens to motivate their hope and trust in him?

He has asked the citizens to give him the opportunity, with their votes come February 6 next year so that he continue the good work he is doing.

What message do you have for other opposition parties/candidates?

For the opponents, it is only natural to aspire, but I want to inform them that there is no vacancy in Government House till 2014, as the citizens have decided that Obi, because he has fulfilled all his election promises, is the only one to take the state to the Promised Land. Anyone who thinks differently should tell us.

How far with the suits by the Chief Chekwas Okorie faction to get INEC substitute Obi’s name for the 2010 election?

I am not aware of the matter.

The Supreme Court on Thursday gave Prof Chukwuma Soludo of the PDP the nod to contest the 2010 governorship election. Do you feel threatened by his final clearance to run?

We don’t have any fears. Actually, we strongly believe in the sanctity of the judicial process, because our government benefited there from. It is the only civilised way to handle matters, instead of taking laws into our hands.

What message for the electorate?

They should go ahead and elect Obi again.

And to INEC?

Its chairman has promised that elections are going to be free and fair and that votes cast must be counted and announced at the polling units. And with monitors now established, we all are hoping that INEC will give us credible election.
