Aisha Babangida, the lovely daughter of the Minna-born former military president, Gen. Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida, is now one of the leading philanthropists in Abuja and some northern parts of the country giving back to the needy.

She has now entered the shoes of her late mother, Maryam, by reviving her popular project, Better Life Programme.

Aisha is known for her big heart and determination to leave a lasting impact in the lives of rural women.

For years now, she has dedicated her life to giving back to society and her influence has transcended the shores of Africa.

Aisha, through the Better Life Programme for the African Rural Woman, embarked on the Adult Literacy Education Programme in Tingan Ashere community in Gaku district of Zuba, Abuja.

The Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) has successfully empowered 62 graduates to improve their earning opportunities via diversified empowerment sources.

This year’s Basic Literacy ceremony and celebration of the two years impact on Gaku is scheduled for today.

The basic tenet of this event is designed to showcase the impact of the organisation’s two-year strategic ideals, implementation and progress.

The organisation also intends to create the necessary awareness to promote innovative solutions to support rural communities in attaining self-dependence.

The event would hold at the Aungan Ashere Adult Literacy Centre, Gaku.
