Real estate investors and key players across the world are expected in Abuja in few days time to deliberate on the issues of sustainable funding and affordable housing in the country.

They will be the guest of the Nigeria Real Estate Summit and Expo (NIRESE) themed: “Collaborating to achieve sustainable funding for adequate and affordable housing in Nigeria”. The summit will also generate discussions on current burning issues affecting the industry including the challenges associated with fluctuations in the economy, which, in turn, contribute to cycles of sensitive developments in the sector, analyze supply and demand as the local economy and how growing population drives land expansion.

Stakeholders during the sessions would discuss five key issues namely; land, infrastructure, housing finance, policy and strategy, as well as technology at the event scheduled at the Sheraton Hotel.

According to the Head, Nigeria Real Estate Summit and Expo (NIRESE) Mr. Steve Ike, said that the 2018 confab will deepen on-going discussions, and provide the most inclusive answers to the housing finance issues.

“Over 100 leading Nigerian companies and counterpart firms from the Ghana, South Africa, UK and UAE are some of the organizations that would participate at the 3nd Nigeria Real Estate Summit and Expo (NIRESE).

The summit is expected to welcome over 400 delegates, more than 2,500 investment-ready visitors, C-level Executives, banking institutions and top government functionaries, in addition to the over N20 billion worth of real estate deals that is expected”, he said.

He further explained that the occasion would bring together the most influential industry professionals and policy makers for two days of expert-led conferences and tailored networking events to learn, share, discuss and chart a new path for the Nigerian built sector.

For him, to address the impact of the geopolitical, economic and societal challenges facing the real estate industry and create new sources of growth, stakeholders need to adapt and rethink their strategies by collaborating with fellow players and creating new forms of philosophies.

“It offers insights, inspiration and solution-oriented tools to turn these philosophies into actions. The exhibition show will also provide opportunity for property developers and other service providers in the industry to showcase existing housing stock, building materials and new construction technologies as well as generate actionable recommendations that will transform the housing landscape and create new opportunities across the country”.

The theme, he noted will be structured around key subject matters ranging from the possibilities of public-private partnerships to unlock housing finance hidden potentials, the challenges of funding the mortgage portfolio, the opportunities to be found in rental housing among others.
