NIQS research conference begins in Bauchi

The third Research Conference (RECON 3) of the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NIQS) will hold from today at the Zaranda Hotel, Jos Road, Bauchi.

The three-day programme with theme “ Confluence of Research, Theory and Practice in the Built Environment” will attract keynote speakers such as the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration) Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Prof. Kabir Bala and the Principal Partner, Prime and Bell Partnership, Kaduna, Mallam Abba Bello Ingawa.

The sub-themes of the conference are Building Information (BIM), Cost and Value Management, Construction Procurement and Contract Administration, Project Management and ICT in Construction. Others are Housing Policy and Property Development, Asset, Property and Facility Management and Alternative Dispute Resolution among others.

According to the Secretary, Marketing and Corporate Affairs, Mr. Jide Oke, “research has been widely acknowledged as the bedrock of growth and sustainable development, as through this, new frontiers of knowledge and innovations are unfolded.
